Dubstep Lovers Unite: Chris’ Spread The Love Remixes

If you didn’t know, Chris is a new urban-pop artist from DC. I listened to her EP when it dropped at the end of last year and I was impressed. Her sound is dope; she has an airy, young, high voice. Shortly after, I blogged the EP and the subsequent video teaser to her single “Yeah OK,” which I’m still waiting to drop. Now, I’m happy to say that the MAK team is the first to drop her remix album Spread The Love Electro/Dubstep Remixes. As you can partially see from the artwork, Chris (Lindsey Christian) is the executive producer of her albums, co-writer of her songs, and editor and producer of all her own videos.  When she released her first EP Spread The Love (available on both her blog and iTunes) at the end of last year, I was in strong like. After hearing this remix album, I’m officially in love. Happy Valentine’s Day!

“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown onto the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.” - George Bernard Shaw

[Client News] Soblu Music Group's, Chris, Featured on KYSDC.com!!!

This week’s featured artist is Chris.

What would you say has been the biggest challenge for you as an artist?
So far, the hardest thing has been balancing my schedule! In addition to working on new music, I am also producing a film this year. So just balancing everything can be a challenge sometimes. But I am really lucky to have my team at Soblu. They keep me on schedule (laughs).

What do you hope people get from your music?
If I had to summarize it, I would hope that people get a meaningful and helpful perspective. I try not to limit myself when I am recording. I don’t limit the sound or the content of the song. I just try to make the best song possible that commands the emotion the song is dealing with. I believe that music is about spreading experience and often times with my music, about spreading love. So when I approach any song, I just hope to present a perspective to the audience. Maybe a perspective that they didn’t know about or that they don’t understand or that they can relate to 100%. Whatever the case may be, that perspective can influence a person and so I try to present something that means something and can possible inspire someone or influence them in a positive way. I also write a lot of my songs to inspire women to be strong and to encourage them to find out what truly makes them happy as individuals. I am all about the #girlpower movement!!
